A print can look very different on a shelf and on a large wall. Start by measuring the space, then choose the artwork and frame to fit. This guide covers the sizes available across our Katie Hipwell Design and Lion & The Pear collections.

These are paper dimensions, not the outside measurements of a frame. Turn them around for a landscape arrangement. The orientation and available sizes of the artwork are shown on each product page.
Which size suits your space?
A5 is compact enough for a desk, shelf or small grouping. A4 is a familiar size for a bedside space, hallway or gallery wall. A3 has twice the area of A4 and gives an illustration more presence above a small piece of furniture.
A2 and A1 suit spaces where you want the artwork to be a focal point. Before committing to a larger print, mark its dimensions on paper and hold it against the wall. Step back to the position where you will normally see it.
30 × 40 cm and 50 × 70 cm are separate sizes. A3 is not the same as 30 × 40 cm, and A2 is not the same as 50 × 70 cm. Buy a frame for the exact dimensions of your chosen print, or ask a framer about a suitable mount.
Which sizes can I order?
Katie Hipwell Design watercolour prints are offered in A5, A4 and A3. Framed choices vary by design: for example, the Planets & Outer Space print offers framed A4 and A3, but not framed A5. Check the product's size selector before choosing a frame.
Lion & The Pear art prints, including the Croissant print and Brave typography print, are available in A4, A3, A2, A1, 30 × 40 cm and 50 × 70 cm. These are supplied as prints only. Frames shown in the styled photographs are not included.
Choosing a frame
An unframed print lets you choose a frame that matches your room. Match the frame's stated picture size to the paper size; its overall width and height will be larger. If you want a mount around the artwork, check both the mount opening and the frame size.
Where a Katie Hipwell framed option is available, the print is supplied without a mount. Frame colours and finished dimensions vary by listing, so use that product's details rather than assuming every design has the same options.

- Measure the wall or shelf, including room around the artwork.
- Check the scale from your usual viewing distance.
- Confirm the exact paper size and whether a frame is included.
- For a group of prints, plan the full arrangement and spacing.
